A record boxed set is often a compilation of a musician's or bands music prior releases and can include their greatest hits, best sellers, rare outtakes, remixes of particular cuts and even new music by the artist or band. They are often released on specific anniversaries of the artists or bands foray into the music culture, sometimes while the artist is alive and sometimes posthumous or can be a compilation of hits on a specific record label.
